This is an excellent cd released by Curb records in 1990. It contains Jack Scott's best going back into the 1950's and 60's. On this cd are: Burning Bridges, What In THe World's Come Over You, Running Scared, My True Love, Goodbye Baby, Leroy, With Your Love, The Way I Walk, There Comes A Time and Midgie.
Scott spent his early childhood in Windsor, Ontario, Canada across the river from Detroit, Michigan. When he was 10, Scott's family moved to a Detroit suburb where he grew up listening to hillbilly music. His mother taught him to play guitar. As a teenager, he pursued his drive to sing.
As a teenager he recorded as Jack Scott and when he turned 18 he formed the Southern Drifters. He fronted the band for three years and then signed as a solo artist with ABC Paramount Records, the year was 1957. He recorded a couple of local hits on the label and then switched to Carlton record label and had a double sided national hit in 1958, Leroy/My True Love. Leroy reached number 11 and My True Love hit number 3 on the Billboard Charts. That record was his first gold record. Then he released his first album and of the 12 songs six became hit singles.Another very interesting fact is that Scott had more US singles, 19, in a shorter period of time, just 41 months than any other recording artist with the exception of The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino and Connie Francis. He also wrote all of his own hits except for Burning Bridges.
This CD is in very good condition, the case has a small crack.
