This is a release from 1966 by a group from Albany, Oregon by the name of Paul Bearer & The Hearsemen. One side was I've Been Thinking and on the B side it is Route 66.
Originally the Del Rays then changing their name to Paul Bearer & The Hearsemen as the popularity of Paul Revere and the Raiders grew in the Northwest.
Members included Marshall Adams on Bass, Steve Knapp on Drums, Ed Wesby on Lead Guitar, Jim Wesby was Tenor Sax and Vocals, Gary Snyder was Keyboards.
Jim Westby met Pat Mason in 1964. Pat Mason was a good guy, excellent promoter and he actually ran the Cascade Club in Springfield, OR. Pat like the band because they not only were good musically but they were a showy band. For those reasons he started booking gigs for the band. He put the group in a rotation with The Fabulous Wailers, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Kingsmen playing such venues as D Street Corral, Gill Coliseum, The Labor Temple, many National Guard Armory's and many county fairs and traveled all over Oregon and Washington.
They actually cut a record at the Cascade Club in Springfield
This band and the Westby brothers were very very good, exciting to watch and to listen to. They drew very good crowds.
This record is in very good condition.
