Wilson Pickett an American singer and songwriter was born in 1941. He was a major figure in the development of Soul Music. He recorded more than 50 songs which made the US R&B charts and many of his songs crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100.
The best know of Pickett's songs is one he co-wrote, In The Midnight Hour. A couple of other notables were Mustang Sally and A Midnight Mover.
In 1991 Wilson Pickett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
