This is album Hits Made Famous By Cowboy Copas sung by Bob Jones. This is a good album and it covers the following songs that Cowboy Copas made famous:
Rainbow at Midnight, Signed Sealed and Delivered, Phillipino Baby, Kentucky Waltz, Red River Valley, I've Got No Use For Women, Alabama Waltz, Bad Man, Letter Edged In Black and Singin' On Sunday.
Cowboy Copas was born on a small ranch near Muskogee, Oklahoma. From his early days everone on and off the ranch called him cowboy. His actual name was Lloyd T. Copas.
Before he was twelve years of age he was winning singing contests. He sang wherever he could, square dances, community affairs. As he grew he became a regular on radio stations everywhere and making one night stands.
In 1946 his big break came when he joined the "Grand Ole Opry" show. He was an instant success and in such great demand by that time all he had time for was performing.
Cowboy Copas was returning from an engagement with two other country stars when their light plane crashed taking his life, and the lives of Hawkshaw Hawkins and Patsy Cline. All were stars of the Grand Ole Opry.
This record was recorded in stereophonic on Coronet label. It sounds good but shows some wear.
