Bernadette Carroll released the record in 1964 on the Laurie Records label. This was Carroll's second release on Laurie label and it became a national hit. The song was co-written and produced by Ernie Maresca.

Bernadette Carroll was born in 1945 in New Jersey. She became well known as a pop singer. In 1959, Bernadette joined with sisters Barbara and Jiggs Allbut and Lynda Malzone to form a group called The Starlets. Their first recording, on the Astro label, was PS I Love You. When the Starlets disbanded, Carroll made her first solo recording for Julia label, "My Heart Stood Still". Then she joined with Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi of the Four Seasons to record the song "Nicky," written by Massi and Bob Gaudio, which was Bernadette's first single for the Laurie label. Then along came this single and national recognition. In the 60's, she teamed up with Denise Ferri and Peggy Santiglia to become back up singers for Connie Francis, Patty Duke, Bobby Hebb and Franki Valli. They also backed up Lou Christie's #1 hit of Lightning Strikes and its follow-up "Rhapsody in the Rain.

This record is in VG+ condition. It is a promotion copy that was given to radio station to gain airplay. This one has the stamp of a radio station on the A side label.
