RCA Records released Cookin' Country album by Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass in 1978.

This album includes the following songs: Sugarfoot Rag, Last Thing On My Mind, Lovesick Blues, Crazy Arms, Let Your Lovelight Shine, Cookin' Country, It's A Heartache, Laredo Nights, The End Of The World and Lay Down Sally.

This album was produced by Danny Davis and Bill McElhiney. 

This copy of this album is stamped in gold on the back as a demonstration copy which was designed for radio station use. This one is in very good condition. The cover shows minimal shelf wear.

Danny Davis a country music band leader, trumpet player, vocalist and producer. He was best known as the founder and leader of the Nashville Brass.Davis was born in 1925.

Davis changed his name from George Nowlan to Danny Davis because MGM executive Harry Meseron told him that he looked like a Danny. He then chose the name Davis as it was very common in the South. Davis was born in Massachusetts.  

Davis began playing trumpet at an early age and by age 14 he was trumpet soloist with the Massachusetts All-State Symphony Orchestra and was granted admittance to the prestigious New England Conservatroy of Music.  He decided to leave the conservatory after only six weeks when he was offered a job as a trumpeter with the band of legendary drummer, Gene Krupa.
