Kool & The Gang released Stone Love as the A side of a 45 rpm record in 1986 with Dance Champion as the B side on Mercury Records.
Kool & The Gang a very real and exciting American band formed by seven high school friends as an instrumental jazz and soul group starting out as the Jazziacs in 1964 with two brothers, Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell other members at the start were Dennis "D.T." Thomas, Robert Mickens, Charles Smith, George Brown and Ricky West. This group went through a number of personnel changes and even an evolution of musical styles, they settled on their name and the group was signed to De-Lite Records where they released their debut album in 1969 called, Kool and the Gang.
Kool & the Gang have many awards including two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, A Music Business Association Chairman's Award for artistic achievement, in 2018 the Bells, Brown and Taylor were inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. They are credited with 23 studio albums and near 70 singles. They have sold 7.5 million records with 4.5 million RIAA-certified albums and singles in the US.
The band is still touring today.
