Chet Atkins first album on Columbia Records was in 1983. This is it, Work It Out With Chet Atkins.
Chet Atkins said he wakes up early and can't just lay around worrying about things that he thought were important so he would go to his studio and when he got there he would grab his cassette player with his favorite excercise songs put on his jogging shoes and go for a run. Atkins said it really helped clear his mind and to make room for more important things. The songs chosen for this album include: Warm Up Medley including Grandfather's Clock, Jubilo, Suwannee River and Humoresque played simultaneously, Climbing Up The Golden Stairs and Goodnight Irene; Walk Me Home; Strolling Medley which includes Bicycle Built For Two, Farewell Blues and Bye Bye Blues; Bouree; Streakin Medley' featuring Walk Don't Run, The Chase, The Streak and In The Good Old Summertime; Cross Country Medley which includes Take Me Home Country Roades, Jersey Bounce, On The Street Where You Live, Physical, The Army Air Corp Song and Take Me Home Country Roads; Run Don't Walk and Harlequin Romance.
This album was released as a promotional copy for radio stations. This album is in very good condition despite being used for on air production. The label on on side number one has some songs marked because of radio use. The other side is good, the cover has some shelf wear and the radio station had marked the cover. But as I said the album sounds good.
