This is a 1962 hit by Chris Montez on Era Records. This song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Montez grew up in Hawthorne, California and was inspired by Ritchie Valens and was influenced by the Latino-flavored music of his community. He studied music composition at El Camino College.
During those years Montez toured with Clyde McPhatter, Sam Cooke, The Platters and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. The Beatles opened London, York and Northampton concerts for him while he was touring with Tommy Roe.
This 45 is a promotional copy for radio stations. I sounds good but shows some wear. VG.
