Lonely Guitar was released as a mono album #LPM-2798 by RCA Victor in 1964. This is some of Duane Eddy's best work. On this album are the following songs: I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry; Long Lonely Days Of Winter; Along Came Linda; Someday The Rainbow; Gunsmoke; A Home In The Meadow; Danny Boy; Shenandoah; Summer Kiss; My Destiny; Cryin' Happy Tears and Annie Lauri.
This is a strange album in some respects as it is a lonely guitar wailing its heart out against a deep-purple choral-orchestral background that is a melancholy masterpiece of arrangement and orchestration. In a way this is a new Duane Eddy, but that great twangy guitar sound is still here, richly subdued but still a satisfying and penetrating as always.
This album is in VG condition the cover is not the best, this is a promotional album created for a radio station. The cover has some tape on it, call letters for the station written on it in marker, not of sale stamped on the cover. On the label it was rubber stamped with station call letters on both sides. But the album sounds fantastic.
