AM Records Forget Me Not Label released two big hits on the same 45. Zorba the Greek hit number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1965 and Tijuana Taxi reached number 9 that year.
Herb Alpert was born March 31, 1935 and is an American jazz musician. Well known for his association with his group the Tijuana Brass. Alpert is also a recording industry executive, the "A" of A & M Records, a recording label he and business partner Jerry Moss founded and eventually sold to PolyGram.
Alpert's musical accomplishments include five No. 1 albums and 28 albums total on the Billboard Album Chart, nine Grammy Awards, fourteen platinum albums, and fifteen gold albums. Alpert has sold 72 million records worldwide. Alpert is the only recording artist to hit No.1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop chart as both a vocalist with This Guy's In Love With You in 1968 and as an instrumentalist with Rise in 1979.
This record is in very good condition although on the Zorba the Greek size there are some stickers from radio station use.
