This album by Karlheinz Stockhausen has the A side as Zyklus For Percussion and the B Side Kalvierstuck X. I believe this album was released on Mace Records in or near 1967.
Stockhausen was born August 22, 1928 near Cologne where early on he studied with Frank Martin and Herman Schroeder prior to extending his studies with Oliver Messiaen and Darius Milhaud. He absorbed the knowledge but his teachers had little influence over his musical style. His intent was to expand into new areas, using the latest tools available to the composer, especially electronic techniques.
It was Pierre Boulez who introduced him to the realm of electronic music.
This is an excellent piece of work showing off his great style. This album is in very good plus condition, the cover shows a little shelf wear.
