1972 was the year that 20th Century Fox released this single by Maureen McGovern
The A Side is The Morning After Song From The Poseidon Adventure written by Al Kasha and Joel Hirshhorn. Produced by Carl Maduri. The B side is Midnight Storm a song written by Maureen McGovern and J. Kennedy. Carl Maduri also produced this song. This record sounds good and is in good condition but does show some wear.  BA side has a little label showing the intro timing and has an small initial.

McGovern was born in 1949 in Youngstown, Ohio. McGovern got an early start by listening to her father's singing quartet rehearse in their home. As the story has it she began signing at the age of three. By the age of eight she had convinced herself that she wanted to be a professional singer.

She graduated high school in 1967, after which she worked as a secretary and performed part-time as a singer for a local folk band called Sweet Rain. Her singing caught the attention of Russ Regan from 20th Century Records. Ironically Regan was searching for a singer to record The Morning After, the theme from The Poseidon Adventure to be released as a record. He hired McGovern to do the recording and it signing with 20th Century Records. That song won an Oscar fro Best Original Song, reached #1 on Billboards charts and sold over a million copies resulting in a gold record.
