Reba Nell McEntire was born in 1955 and is a country singer, songwriter, actress and record producer. It all started for her as a high school student singing in the Kiowa High School band, on local radio shows and with her siblings, and at rodeos. Red Steagall heard her sing the National Anthem at the National Rodeo in Oklahoma City and it was he who brought her to Nashville where she signed a contract with Mercury Records. She released her first solo album in 1977 and released five additional studio albums on that label.

In 1984 she left Mercury Records and signed with MCA Nashville Records, and it was then she took creative control over her second MCA album which had a more traditional country sound a produced two number one singles.  McEntire has since released 29 studio albums, acquired 42 number one singles, 16 number one albums, and 28 albums have been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America. She has earned the title of The Queen of Country and is one of the best selling artists of all time with having sold more than 75 million records worldwide.
