In 1959 Sandy Nelson recorded and released Teen Beat on Original Sound Record Co. This great instrumental reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 that year.

Sander L. Nelson was born in 1938 and well known as a rock drummer. He was a seeing a lot of popularity in the early 1960's. He had several intrumental Top 40 hits and was a session drummer on many other hits of the that time. Currently living in Boulder City, NV.

His first recording, with a band called the Renegades that included Bruce Johnston, Richard Poldolor and Nick Venet. The first record was Geronimo and released on Original Sound Records label. Although it flopped on the national charts, it charted in some of the Mid West markets.

Nelson attended high school with Jan Berry and Dean Torrence (who became Jan and Dean). As the respect for his drumming gained he played as a session drummer on To Know Him Is To Love Him by the Teddy Bears, Alley Oop by the Hollywood Argyles and A Thousand Stars by Kathy Young and the Innocents.

His song Teen Beat on Original Records hit number 4 in 1959 and sold over a million copies.

This record sounds good. It does show some wear but not abuse.
