Anthony Dominick Benedetto was born in 1926 in Astoria, Queens, New York. Known professionally as Tony Bennett a name given to him by the great Bob Hope before a Bob Hope Tour that included Bennett. Singer of traditional pop standards, big band and show tunes as well as jazz. Bennett is also a painter having created pieces that are on public display in several institutions and he is the founder of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, New York.
